Mind Power - Cathy Goodman Willed Cancer Out Of Her Body Using The Secret

Cathy's story is one that could be considered beyond uplifting or inspirational -it is an out-right miracle! If you log on to her spouses website (Morris E. Goodman) at themiracleman.org you will see that before she received the blessing of Healing in her own life -she herself was the spectacular miracle in Morris' life after he recovered from a plane crash that left no hope for restoring his beaten and broken body from the paralysis and internal injuries that accident left him with. She and Morris were married on November 10th 1990 and little did they know at that time that Morris' story of positive and forward thinking would some day be re-awakened and prove invaluable in Cathy's life as well.

As told by Cathy she was diagnosed with breast cancer and her response was to go home and NOT think about the illness at all. She states in the movie The Secret that instead of concentrating on the cancer she put her attention elsewhere and that she truly believed in her heart with her strong faith that we had already been healed and that in her mind she saw herself as if cancer had never been in her body to begin with. She tells how she would walk around the house saying out loud "Thank you for my healing" over and over again. As she continues her story she explains to viewers that she and her husband would only watch funny movies because they believed that laughter would be an important part of her recovery and if she was laughing she wasn't thinking about anything to do with the diagnosis.

In just 3 short months Cathy got the word that the cancer was gone. The miracle here is that Cathy had decided early on not to take the conventional route and so this healing took place without any radiation or chemotherapy whatsoever! By sheer mind power and force of will Cathy was able to put the cancer behind her. Because her husband was able to heal himself from the massive injuries that the doctors believed would take his life Cathy knew first hand the valuable instrument the mind itself can play on the body and its own ability to heal itself. Because she accepted it for truth -her thoughts were able to work in harmony with her immune system and rid the cancer from her body entirely.

Cathy and her husband Morris are great examples of the old adage "Mind over matter!" After all what else sustains our current sense of reality if it is not our mindset? Isn't it in the mind that we control the power over our own circumstances? Can we be hurt by someone's unkind words without first accepting in our mind to perceive the insult as "personal" if it isn't taken as a personal blow to our character how can we accept it as an insult? Until we welcome something can it really be real? These are the kind of insightful ideas a movie like The Secret is meant to provoke. It gives value and merit to opening ones mind and looking outside the confines of our ordinary day to day approach as well as our normal take on the world.

All in all, if nothing else, we can begin to at least consider what an invaluable asset the mind can be. More importantly still, we can evaluate the benefits of learning how to live in harmony with our thoughts in order to live a happier, healthier existence. What (or who) would that hurt...I'd wager on it hurting no one -and if that alone resulted in a peaceful resolve -maybe eventually somewhere down the line we could look at getting along with everyone around us as an option to entertain in our minds as well! Now what could (or would) that thought mean to the entire planet in the end? Cathy herself probably has a lot to say on these issues -I'd be willing to bet on it!

Mind Power - Ending Self Sabotage Today

Self sabotaging behaviors occur in many areas of one's daily life.

They include things like:

1. Over eating.

2. Excessive alcohol and drug use.

3. Dishonesty with one's partner, friends and family.

4. Forgetfulness.

5. Impulsive behaviors.

6. Self Doubt.

7. Hesitation.

8. Angry or aggressive behaviors.

9. Not stopping to be an effective listener.

10. Being too self absorbed.

11. Not stopping to think and reflect before acting.

12. Relying on old negative programmed behaviors assuming that they will work.

And so on.

At the end of the day all of these only lead you to regret having made such choices.

Unfortunately any individuals feel unable to break these old programmed habits and feel imprisoned by them. This only leaves them feeling helpless, inadequate, powerless and generally bad about themselves. It is this last feeling that stokes the fire of all self sabotaging behaviors.

How can one free one's self from this negative spiral?

Well the solution is related to my last point which also lies at the root of such negative habits: "feeling bad about one's self".

Where does this start and what can be done about it?

Well it begins in all the negative childhood experiences that one has stored away in one's mind and body and which secretly and effectively repeatedly reinforce why "you" are a "bad person". For instance do you remember ever being punished for something you did as a child? Do you remember ever having had a bad experience "like the divorce of your parents" for instance, that couldn't explain to yourself but went on to assume that somehow you were the cause of?

You see as children, when something bad happens to us, we often assume that it happened because of us. These assumptions become imprinted in our unconscious mind and body and reinforce the belief that we should continue to punish ourselves for them.

In order to free yourself from this repetitive "self abuse" it becomes necessary to literally unearth and erase these imprints from your mind and body.

This is effectively and painlessly done with a new process I developed over 15 years ago and which I administer over the telephone called the Mind Resonance Process(R). If you are interested in experiencing MRP kindly visit the web link below.

Mind Power - The Wonderful World of Mind Power

Do you desire to have a better life? More money? Love? Better health? If you answered yes to any or all these questions then I have great news for you. You can have all of these things by using just the power of your mind. Sound impossible? Let me reveal to you how it's possible to use mind power to get what you want.

The brain is an intricate piece of machinery. It is so complicated that even the most brilliant scientists do not fully understand how it functions. The brain is where our thoughts originate and it is the center of communication for the body. For instance, place your hand on something hot and in a matter of milliseconds a signal will be sent to the brain and the brain will communicate to the hand to pull back in a hurry.

Now if the brain can function that flawlessly, imagine what would happen if you learn to tap into the power of the mind to get your subconscious to produce the results that you want. Many successful people have learned this secret and you can too with a little bit of study and practice.

I am going to give you just a few tips to start you on the path to a better life. Use these tips and watch a wonderful transformation take place.

1. Visualize yourself being successful. Start a scrapbook of your better life. Search for pictures of your dream home and place them in your scrapbook. Do you want to lose weight? Find pictures of people that look the way you desire to look and place them in your scrapbook. Have a dream job? Find pictures pertaining to this job and place them in your scrapbook. Make it a point to look through this scrapbook everyday. Add to it accordingly and constantly visualize yourself achieving all the things in your scrapbook.

2. Portray yourself as being successful. This doesn't mean to brag about yourself or to tell lies about your accomplishments. It means to simply walk and talk with confidence. Visualize how a successful person would act in any situation and try to become that person. Always dress nice, even if you are just going to the grocery. When you always feel good about yourself, you will accomplish your dreams.

3. This is a very important tip. Stay away from people that will drag you down. The negative vibrations that these people give off will transfer to you and become a roadblock to your success. Seek out positive people that are highly accomplished and align yourself with them.

Using the power of the mind to get everything you want in life is not new. Successful people have been doing it for centuries. Follow in their footsteps and watch your life transform into something great by using mind power!

Mind Power - Do The Impossible

By "impossible" I am referring to something that you would like to be, have or do, but it currently seems like way out of reach, and as much as you genuinely desire to live that dream, it appears impossible to you. The purpose of this article is to show you the process necessary to overcome the "impossible" barrier and to open the way for the realization of your "impossible" dreams.

* * *

Alice laughed. 'There's no use trying" she said. "One can't believe impossible things".

"I daresay you haven't had much practice", said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

- "Through the Looking Glass" by Lewis Carroll

* * *

Everything anyone has ever accomplished in life began with a dream, with an idea. It doesn't matter if the person desired to create financial wealth, to heal himself from terminal illness, to attract that special someone, to influence others using mind-power, to play a music instrument, to use telepathy, to teleport, to levitate, to manifest money out of thin air (universal substance), to create an airplane or a TV or a computer or Internet - it all began with an idea.

You may have a tendency to distinguish between what you consider to be impossible for you, and what you believe to be impossible based on general opinion (a limited perception of a particular culture or society).

Once upon a time, the idea of a radio or TV was considered impossible. One brave man, whose best friends took him to psychiatric hospital to be examined after he announced that he had discovered a way to transmit sound and pictures through the ether - persisted. And thanks to him, today we can all share the blessings of his "impossible dream".

Any invention we enjoy today came about because someone was brave enough to follow his heart and his dream, in spite of everyone else's opinion that this man (or a woman) lost his mind and was just chasing an "impossible dream".

There are many abilities that small pockets of humanity have developed through practice, yet to most people even the existence of these abilities is unknown, or seems possible only within the realm of science fiction.

Then there are experiences you'd like to have, and which you know that are possible for others because others have accomplished them, but you have no idea how to go about creating these experiences for yourself . So, they seem totally out of reach - they are your "impossible" dreams.

The process for realizing any type of "impossible dream" is the same.

The first requirement is that YOU MUST WANT IT. It has to be YOUR DREAM, not someone else's dream. The idea of accomplishing this "impossible" dream has to be EXCITING to you. It is not enough that you merely wish you had that experience, you must DESIRE it with your entire being. You have to FEEL the FIRE of that DESIRE burning with you, consuming your entire being. It's this fire that will BURN AWAY and consume all the obstacles in your way.

Then you must DECIDE that you're going to have it no matter what, even if you don't have a clue how it's going to come about. "HOW" is really not the part you need to concern yourself with. It's not part of your job. "WHEN" is also not the part you need to concern yourself with.

Your sheer DETERMINATION to get your outcome will open the way for the "how". You must then ACT. You must be WILLING TO DO whatever it takes to bring this about. IF you've DONE ALL you knew how and were capable of doing, the universe will fill out the missing parts - it will provide you with whatever it takes to make your impossible dream possible.

If you need greater strength, it will be supplied. Have you ever heard of a mother who, in order to save the life of her small child, who wondered under a huge truck, was able to single-handedly lift it? This "miracle" may be contrary to the physical laws, but is not contrary to the spiritual laws. What happened was that in that moment of need and total surrender, she merged totally with the universal energy, like a drop of water merges with an ocean, and partook of its strength and power. She opened herself to power, and the needed power flowed freely through her. The power with which she was able to accomplish this "miracle" was not "hers", it was part of the infinite ocean of energy. While none of us is actually separate from this infinite ocean of energy, we can cut ourselves of through the thoughts and beliefs we hold in our minds (primarily through believing ourselves to be separated and isolated from this all-powerful loving and intelligent force).

If you need food, it will be supplied. If you need money it will be supplied. If you need time it will be supplied. If you need information, it will be supplied. The supply doesn't come out of nothing - it comes through "exchange of energy". There is always something you have to "invest". When you work with mind-power and hypnosis - the primary investment consists of your "emotional energy". You may have seen the word emotion spelled as "e-motion" which translates into "energy in motion". You move this infinite supply of energy to re-arrange itself and fill your needs through your emotions of DESIRE, DECISION, DETERMINATION and EXPECTATION.

If you're stuck in a situation where in spite of all of your knowledge and abilities there truly isn't anything you can do to get out of a messy situation - the infinite intelligence and power will intervene and bring your outcome even through what may seem to be a sheer miracle - an event that defies physical laws.

There are other laws, universal laws - laws of the mind, laws of the spirit - that transcend physical laws, yet to truly benefit from them, you have to live according to them. I will write more about these universal laws later on - at this point I simply want to mention that just because an event seems impossible according to known physical laws, it doesn't make it impossible according to universal laws. And the first and the most important law is the LAW OF LOVE. By becoming obedient to the LAW OF LOVE, the gates of heaven will open for you and whatever you may ever need or desire will gladly rush your way.

To use hypnosis and your mind-power successfully, you only need to abide by laws of the mind because they have the power to over-ride physical laws.

In order for universal laws to take effect, in order to call miracles into your life, you must have TRUST and FAITH. In other words, first you must acknowledge that SOMETHING GREATER THAN YOU exists, which is able, willing and knows how to assist you - if you would let it. A way of showing your TRUST and FAITH is by whole-heartedly EXPECTING to get what you desire.

The truth is that every single person at some point in his life gets a vision, a thought, an idea of living a dream-life, of accomplishing something that is GREATER than himself, a dream that seems totally out of reach, a dream that seems IMPOSSIBLE to accomplish. This inherent GREATNESS is part of every single human being. And, yes fulfilling this "impossible dream" does feel like "mission impossible" - because you were never intended to accomplish it on your own. And it's up to you whether you choose to accept or reject this mission.

The purpose of this "impossible dream" is not to tantalize you, torment you or make you feel inadequate to rise to the challenge. Its purpose is to motivate you to become aware of and to express this GREATER SELF in your life, by aligning with its love, power and wisdom, by learning that IT is YOUR BEST FRIEND and that it is always present to help you. This GREATER SELF IS the very LIFE that animates your body.

The "impossible dream" is actually a dream this GREATER SELF desires to express through you. This GREATER SELF IS the SOURCE of this dream AND the WAY through which this dream becomes realized. You were never meant to bring this dream about with your limited wisdom and power, but by learning how to harness the wisdom and the power of this GREATER SELF. Without ITS assistance, the dream will remain impossible. With ITS assistance the dream will be possible.

The whole point and purpose of hypnosis and the hypnotist is to help you connect with this GREATER SELF that is present within you and all around you. In hypnosis, it is sometimes referred to as your Superconscious or as your unconscious. The latter term means that you're unconscious of the infinite resources within you, but it doesn't do much to develop a relationship of trust, faith and understanding of the wonderfulness of your Greater Self.

If you ever stumble upon a hypnotist who tells you "hypnosis can help you achieve this, but it cannot help you achieve that" - it only demonstrates that this hypnotist has not yet had a chance to get intimately acquainted with that GREATER SELF within him and speaks based on his own "limited understanding". Also, a hypnotist who has not acquainted himself with this GREATER SELF may or may not be able to help you, simply because his own convictions and beliefs will get silently transmitted (thoughts do get transmitted through the thin air, much like sounds and pictures you listen to on the radio and watch on TV).

The way you "grow in power" to do impossible things is through daily practice and through correct use of the power / ability you desire to increase. This is true whether you're a weight-lifter and desire to be able to lift more weight, whether you desire to master any other physical skill, or whether you desire to master, what are commonly referred to as "supernatural" powers (the development of these is strictly in the area of mastering your mind-power and are totally subject to the laws of the mind).

Our world generally classifies things that are subject to physical laws as "natural", and things that are subject to mental (spiritual) laws as "supernatural". Because medical science has not devised instruments to measure the quotient of your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs - when a person recovers from terminal illness through the use of his "mind-power" it is considered supernatural. In physical terms if you can't touch something - it's not considered "real" - yet LOVE is the most powerful force and whether you're on giving or on the receiving end of genuine love, I'm sure that it feels REAL. On my part I can attest that the greatest things I have accomplished in my life are those which I did out of love.

The incorrect use of power / ability leads to a temporary loss or diminishment of power. If you use incorrectly your physical abilities / powers, you can injure yourself and find yourself prevented temporarily or permanently from exercising these powers. The same is true of using your mental powers / abilities. As you exercise your desired power / ability on daily basis and use it correctly, it will grow. Eventually, it will become a part of your unconscious process and then using it will become "a piece of cake". You'll just use it automatically whenever necessary or whenever you desire it.

Now, I'd like to remind you that YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE. Just about anything you are able to do today - easily, effortlessly, unconsciously - seemed at some point in your life impossible. The only difference between those things you have chosen to master and those that have remained impossible is that you were TOTALLY MOTIVATED to master the first, and with some of them you had TOTAL SUPPORT of people around you (no one ever told you "that's impossible"), and you were DETERMINED to MASTER THOSE SKILLS because they were VERY IMPORTANT TO YOU - perhaps to your SURVIVAL. There was never a question whether you can or you can not - you JUST simply HAD TO DO IT. Those you haven't even attempted to master didn't seem THAT IMPORTANT to you.

There was a time when you didn't know how to walk. You didn't even have a clue how you're going to be able to walk. All that you had was a sense of DETERMINATION that you'll master the art of walking no matter what. Failure was not an option. You focused all your energy on accomplishing this dream (yes, there was a time when even being able to walk was only a dream), and what made mastering this ability even easier - not only did you EXPECT that you will be able to walk, but EVERYONE AROUND you EXPECTED IT, too.

And you went through the same process when you were learning how to talk, how to write, and how to do many other things that are so easy for you to do today that you don't even think about them as POWERS.

Then, you started to have some dreams that OTHER PEOPLE didn't perceive as possible, some dreams that even well-known experts pronounced as impossible. Or maybe you found yourself surrounded with people who attempted to talk you into (and maybe succeeded) shoving your dreams under the carpet and pursuing theirs. And maybe you discovered that this may all worked fine and well for them, but it left you feeling unhappy, unfulfilled or somehow inadequate.

There is a perfect place in this world for each one of us, but to live from that place of happiness and fulfillment, we have to have the guts to follow our own dreams, no matter how "impossible" they may appear to be at a time. The world belongs to those who dare - to follow their own hearts, to give all they've got to bring about their own dreams. That is also the secret of happiness. And, a truly happy person will always wish happiness, fulfillment and well being upon others. We all share with the world what we've got - what we are - intentionally and unintentionally. A person who truly feels good about himself will desire others to feel good. A person who lives his life in fear will desire other people to live in fear - in well-meaning people, this can take form of "protecting you" from getting hurt. Choose your friends wisely. They can propel you to reach the stars, or they can take you down the drain with them.

Take some time EVERY DAY to DO SOMETHING that seems a bit "impossible" for you. You can only develop your powers and abilities through practice and application. You will not just wake up one morning and become something or somebody else. You'll change and grow and become more by daily exercising the powers and abilities you have (if you don't use them, you lose them), by stretching beyond and overcoming your limitations step by step. Begin with smaller ones and move toward bigger. This will condition your subconscious mind for success and the mastery of each new ability will get easier and easier - until each one becomes a part of you, an unconscious process, which you'll be able to do automatically, without thinking - just like you're able to walk and talk.

Mind Power - Spirituality for Entrepreneurs

There are many people who might ask, what is entrepreneurial spirit? Those are people who have never led a sports team, created a brochure, run a business, a family or stood in front of an audience. For the vast majority of people, entrepreneurial spirit is an ideal to be read about in great leaders of the past, admired in successful heroes, or debated as to the "moral goodness" of others. So, this book is not for those who want to watch from the sidelines. Entrepreneurial spirit is for those who have the courage to think for themselves, act out of courage, to follow their heart and live for the moment.

It means sustaining the struggle and being committed when times are tough. It means getting up again and again. It means taking the blame when you don't deserve it. Entrepreneurial spirit means being responsible for your life. Stepping outside mass consciousness and comfort of a "normal job". So this little book is for those courageous individuals who have chosen to follow their own star. The mission? To use, give, share the gifts, talents, blessings we were born with, and die empty. To give and therefore leave an impact on this earth, worthy of a life.

Individuality

Every entrepreneur seems to pride themselves on their individuality, their unique way of doing things, their style. This is vital stuff, but it makes entrepreneurs a fragile bunch, sensitive, insecure, defensive. The determination and commitment that makes the entrepreneur a success can also block him or her from living and working consciously. Better ways are often available but the very same spirit that keeps an entrepreneur on track can block them into unhealthy patterns.

Our individuality is our ego, so ego is responsible for allot of entrepreneurial spirit, but it can only take a person so far. Sustained ego motivation causes health problems, stress, anxiety, physical exhaustion and depression. So we are suggesting here some additional skills to help entrepreneurs stay emotionally, mentally and physically healthy. Resistance is normal but the results are worth the challenge. You'll find another way to handle stress, lead, and create, one that comes from within.

The Four great Pillars of Spiritual Awareness - Entrepreneurial Spirit

There are four mind states that hold an entrepreneur in a powerful mental state. This mental state is called the spiritual state. There are four conditions of this mental state and while those four conditions sit in balance, there is an inner strength, often referred to as inner calm, or peace of mind. This peace of mind can exist in even the toughest situations, even disasters and stress if the four pillars are firmly in place.

Of the billions of things that can go wrong in life and work, only one of four states of mind can be the cause. This might sound extraordinary, but it is true. It is the combination of these four mind states that creates the mind power called spirituality. Four simple pillars of wisdom.

Gratitude is the power of attraction. What you appreciate grows. But this cannot be selective. You cannot be thankful for only half of life. The bad news has a gift too. I will teach you how to stay thankful, and therefore attractive and powerful as a leader, and friend.

Presence is the power of authenticity. Turning up every day, even when the pressure is unbearable. How to hold peace of mind, to remain cantered, balanced and calm, to think clearly when there is turbulence, to face emotion without reaction. Presence is the great power of all global leadership, male and female.

Certainty is the power of the future the result of an inner meditation. All eyes are turned to the future. The present is here, it has taken care of itself. The future is where leaders must differentiate themselves. Here, head and heart compete. Thinking minds try to imitate the inspiration of the future. Thinking minds and great ego's try to calculate, manipulate, exaggerate to cause the future. But there is only one certainty for the future. It is an inner certainty. And this is the vision, inspiration and purpose I will share with you. Absolute certainty.

Love is the motive for all, and is defined as the balance between support and challenge. Everything else is transient. People, wives, children, husbands, partners, money, assets, bodies, health all come and go. And in the midst of all this we must remain proactive, inspired, motivated. Love is the boundaryless motive, the one that survives, is not impermanent. Love is the permanent sense of deep inspiration which drives an individual to walk through the fires of everyday life, and not be attached, lost or destroyed by them. Love for life, love for work, love for others but most importantly love for the self that has a purpose to serve a power higher than itself. I will share the skills that allow you to hold love as your highest motive.

Mind Power - 5 Ways To Use Mind Power To Maximise Your Potential

Why do patients who are given placebo pills report that they feel well? These pills have no healing capabilities. They get well purely because the power to heal came from their beliefs.

They were told that these pills contained the disease-fighting ingredients that would effectively cure them - and they believed it. The belief embedded within their subconscious became real.

So can you see how powerful your mind is? You can do anything that your mind can conceive, as long as you have the belief and will power to back it up.

You mind is indeed a powerful creation. It has the fantastic ability to transmute your desires into their physical counterparts. So how can you use it to achieve your dreams?

1. Believe That "You Can"

The mind is like a computer. If you input garbage - negative thoughts, beliefs that are dis-empowering - it will send out similar messages that prevent you from achieving your potential.

A famous person once said, "Whenever you think you can or you can't, you're right." If you think you are poor, you are; unless you properly condition your thoughts to the positive mindset.

It's hard to think rich if your environment is not conducive to such way of thinking. But the imagination is a powerful tool. Use it to achieve your goals. Visualize your house to be a mansion, your old car to be a limousine, or whatever it is you want to attain.

2. Nurture Your Mind

Spend some time everyday reading good books, listening to good music. Expose your mind to influences that make you grow.

3. Spend Some Time In Reflection

Whether it's a few minutes a day or a few hours, take a "time out" to reflect on your day. Take steps to calm the turmoil within your mind and you'll be more effective in your work and daily life.

4. Live As If You Are The Person You Want To Be

One of the most effective ways is to use the "as if" principle. Live as if you are already in possession of whatever you long to have.

So what do you want to be? You want to be a lawyer, doctor, athlete, or newscaster? Think, act, and feel like one. You'll be much closer to your goal if you're constantly intact with your objective.

5. Actualize Your Purpose

It's not enough that you act like one, but you have to actually ACT. Do what needs to be done.

Don't get so lost in your fantasy dream world that you forget to take action. Let your visions encourage and motivate you to actualize your purpose.

There is absolutely no limit with what the mind can achieve. But you have to combine belief, will power, and action with a positive frame of mind in order to arrive at your intended destination.

Mind Power - Meditation and Stress Management

Scientific studies show prolonged exposure to stress may cause heart attacks, strokes, and some forms of cancer in certain individuals. When left unmanaged stress can manifest a wide range of symptoms and affect every part of the body.

Although stress has gotten a bad rap, it's actually not a bad thing. Stress is one of our body's natural defense mechanisms that warns us of impending danger. When the body perceives a threat, it sets off a process of biochemical processes intended to help our body effectively deal with the crisis.

Adrenaline produces the "fight-or-flight" response. It speeds up the heart rate and increases blood sugar to prepare the body to exert a burst of energy. Adrenaline is intended to be used on as "as-needed" basis, not an "all-day, every-day" basis.

Cortisol is converted from corticosteroids which are secreted by the adrenal gland when the body is under stress. Cortisol is the primary stress hormone and affects multiple areas of the body. It increases blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and suppresses the digestive and reproductive systems.

Today, many people are living in constant fight-or-flight mode. This causes the body to continuously produce and release stress hormones. Exposure to chronically high levels of stress hormones can lead to obesity, insomnia, heart disease, depression, digestive ailments and other complications.

Incorporating stress management techniques can significantly reduce the impact stress has on your body. Meditation is one of the easiest and most affordable stress management solutions. It can be performed in the privacy of your home and requires little time.

When people hear the word 'meditation' they oftentimes conjure up thoughts of Buddhist monks praying in a temple. While this sometimes is the case, it is not the norm. There are many forms of meditation and the techniques used vary considerably. Some people practice meditation in conjunction with their spiritual practices; however, many people use it solely as a tool for physical and psychological well-being.

The altered state of mind that includes meditation, hypnosis and guided imagery has been scientifically validated as an effective way to treat anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem and other psychological disorders. Meditation can help lower blood pressure, manage chronic pain and slow, or reverse aging.

Meditation has proven to be one of the safest and most effective treatments for chronic diseases including arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, gastrointestinal disorders, allergies, heart disease and cancer.

Practicing meditation on a regular basis can lead to improved physical and mental health, but it takes time to see the results. Meditation requires some level of commitment in order to experience profound changes. It's unrealistic to expect chronic stress to disappear after one 15-minute meditation session.

Many people prefer to learn meditation by attending a class or one-on-one instruction, where they can interact with the instructor. If classes are not an option, meditation books and CDs can prove just as beneficial. Meditation CDs are a convenient way to engage in meditation on a regular basis. You can listen to them whenever you need to relax and unwind.

Mini Meditations are a collection of 15- or 30-minute meditation sessions directed at a specific topic. Created by Tracy Bonczyk, Master Hypnotist and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Mini Meditations are the perfect solution for people on the go and can help you manage your stress, while promoting physical and psychological well-being. Mind Power - Why A Harry Lorayne Memory Book Made Me Angry

At 17 years of age I had absolutely no idea as to what I wanted to do with my life, I had no special interests and was barely holding onto a part-time job I had secured during the summer holidays.

I needed some help, some guidance as to my next step, and although I wasn't sure what I wanted I knew I didn't want a career in stacking shelves in a supermarket.

This led me to start checking out some of the local bookstores in my area one Saturday afternoon; just prior to that I had been reading a very interesting book about hypnosis and became fascinated about how the human mind worked and how it could be trained by using the power of suggestion.

Like many books about the mind, hypnosis titles occupied the "popular psychology" section, which today is mostly known as self help and personal growth.

As I browsed through the books on positive thinking and mind power a little title stood out: "How to Develop a Superpower Memory" by Harry Lorayne. Instinctively I picked it up and became absolutely absorbed in it.

After I had read a good 10 to 15 pages (much to the annoyance of the bookshop owner) I purchased it and devoured all of it in a few days; and that's when I started to become a little annoyed and eventually quite angry.

For much of my school life I found learning immensely difficult, this impacted my self-esteem in a big way and added to my feelings of low self worth and inadequacy and after reading about Harry's methods I realised not only were they quite easy to learn but they were based on memory principles that went back as far as ancient Greece!

Had I been exposed to this information in school I could have chosen a whole new direction for my life and not the one I just fell into. To this day I often wonder why even now, accelerated learning and mnemonic techniques are not an integral part of the education system.

Since that time I've made the decision not to dwell on what could have been and instead focus on what I can do now in this moment to create the life I desire.

After reading that book I decided I was going to learn everything I could about other mental training techniques and use them to better my life; this kick-started an intense reading program where I literally went through a new book each week.

It's a habit that has totally transformed my life as it taught me that the solution to any problem or issue I was facing was contained in a book somewhere and all I had to do to solve it was simply find that information and then apply it.

If you are currently facing challenges or problems and feel that you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this; you haven't!

Mind Power - Subliminal Power: Using Technology to Reprogram Your Mind

Background

In the past few decades, with the advent of the computers, scientists have turned towards exploring how the power of the ubiquitous desktop can be harnessed to understand how the human psyche works. Every human being possesses enormous potential; it is only a question of tapping into one's energies, eliminating all that is preventing these energies from coming to the surface, and letting the potential blossom. One technique that has emerged as a result of this exploration exploits the fact that users have a high amount of concentration when they are focused on the computer screen. By flashing positive messages and imagery on the screen unobtrusively and for the flash of a second, this technique bypasses the defense barricades of the conscious and seeks to reach out to the ever accepting subconscious. This article looks at how powerful software is clubbing research on psychoanalysis with computer technology to reprogram your mind for the better.

Self-limiting beliefs, self-defeating emotions

Man has, since the dawn of time, wondered about the structure and the power of the subconscious, or technically, the unconscious mind. It is known that a human being is basically driven by primeval urges and emotions that are hidden deep in their psyche; and that all their actions have a root and a link to these core elements. Tapping into the psyche to examine these urges and emotions, and further, eliminating and letting go of those emotions that are not beneficial, is the subject of much research in psychoanalysis.

Right from the moment the zygote forms as a result of unison of male and female gametes in the mother's womb, an impression of the world around it begins to be created in its unconscious mind. These impressions are created through the thoughts that the mother thinks during both her waking as well as sleeping hours. Besides food and oxygen that seeps through the placenta, the embryo also assimilates the entire baggage of emotions that the mother carries in her psyche. Like a sponge, each and every crest and trough of thought, every single nuance of feeling, and the slightest inflexion of emotion that her mother experiences, gets absorbed in its passive mental firmament.

The moment the child emerges from the womb to take its first breath of fresh air, it begins to be bombarded with teachings and suggestions and commands from the people in its life. Not all of these teachings and suggestions and commands are hundred percent positive. Individuals - parents included - sharing the responsibility of rearing the child have their own skewed perspective of how the world is to be lived - and their beliefs and ideas and opinions and likes and dislikes get unconsciously projected onto the one personality that has the greatest capacity to assimilate them without any objection: the persona of the placid child lying peacefully in the cradle. Circumstances in the child's life also reinforce these projections.

Unfortunately, while our conscious, wakeful alertness recognizes "good" thoughts versus *not* so good thoughts; the subconscious does not have this power of discrimination. It simply accepts and absorbs, sponge-like, anything and everything that comes its way. And, again unfortunately, it is the subconscious that drives our actions and therefore our destiny. It is the age-old principle in action: "What you think, so shall you become."

The result? As you and I begin to grow up, along with height we also gain in beliefs that are self-limiting and emotions that are self-defeating. And as we lurch left and right towards our destinies, we keep wondering why things are not going on as well as we undoubtedly deserve them to be.

So, instead of beliefs such as:

- I am a genius
- I can create anything I want
- I can solve anything
- I know I am a genius
- I understand everything
- I can learn anything
- I am intelligent and improving!
- My intelligence is vast
- I can solve anything with ease
- My intellect is limitless

... we tend to harbor the following beliefs:

- I am a bumbling nincompoop
- Whatever I try to do, doesn't work out
- I cannot solve anything; solutions are beyond me
- I know I am an average mediocrity
- I am unable to understand everything / anything
- I am incapable of learning anything
- I am not intelligent and going downhill every passing day!
- My intelligence is limited
- I cannot solve anything with ease
- My intellect has limitations

... and these beliefs become our reality.

Rising from the morass

The moment when you become aware that you are actually wallowing in the morass of these self-limiting beliefs and emotions, is, in my opinion, a crucial moment of your life. This moment may come at any stage - early childhood, late adolescence, or in your golden years. When this perception about what and how you have been thinking all along crosses your mind, there is no flash of lightening around you, there are no thunderclaps, and no halo formation over your head. It is just an "aha" kind of feeling, accompanied with a certain lightness that you experience when you unburden a great weight from your shoulders.

Even more crucial now is to not let this awareness go. It is very much essential to hold on to it. You require a "divine" guide that walks by your side at all times, constantly reminding you of the new thought patterns that you need to think henceforth. Alas, the human population being what it is now, such guides are in perpetual short supply.

Enter, the New Age Guide

The concept of subliminal messaging is a brilliant marriage between psychoanalysis and computer technology. The offspring of this consummation is software that acts as the "divine" guide, albeit in a virtual form. Since most of the waking hours are now spent staring at the computer screen, this is where the New Age, high-tech guide places itself.

The principle behind subliminal messaging is simple: "what you think, so shall you become". And this principle is implemented very efficiently by directing the messages to that aspect of your mind that matters the most: your subconscious. You see, in your waking hours, you automatically and cynically raise your defenses, and selectively filter the thoughts that come to you. This selective filtering also unfortunately blocks positive, self-affirmative thoughts from edging their way in. On the other hand, the subconscious mind does not have any of its own defenses; it is simply there, accepting and absorbing whatever comes its way.

But when you *consciously* click on a software that you know is good for you, and then shift your attention to the work at hand on your computer; you set in motion the process of self-affirmative messages reaching out to your subconscious. The software begins beaming out the upbeat messages that are already present in its database. In some software flavors, you yourself have the choice to select the messages that you want, or you can create altogether new set of messages that are relevant to your particular life circumstance. These messages show up imperceptibly on the screen for a fraction of a second, often at random intervals, and fade away immediately. The speed with which this happens is so fast, that at the conscious level, your brain does not even comprehend that it is happening.

But, unbeknown to your conscious mind, a pathway is created between your faculty of vision and your subconscious, which automatically conduits the messages right up to the doorstep of the subconscious. And, very willingly, as always, the subconscious laps it up. (This concept of a pathway is nothing new; it is a well-observed fact of life.) Over a period of time, the self-affirmative thoughts dominate the earlier, negative and self-defeating thought patterns, till a stage comes when you are left only with positive thought patterns. And it is these new thought patterns that begin to guide you towards your new destiny.

The best feature of such softwares is their unobtrusiveness. We increasingly spend a major part of our waking hours staring at the computer screen; and our concentration is at its maximum as we go about clicking and surfing and entering & retrieving information. By working silently in the background, these softwares achieve in a very short time what other techniques of self-development take so long to achieve.

Nirvana, at last

As a self-development enthusiast, I have worked on quite a few products in the market that offer nirvana to the seeker of mind power improvement. While each of these products has its own set of pros and cons, the bunch of softwares that generate subliminal messaging take the cake. If you are keen upon removing the kinks in your mental makeup that are preventing you from achieving success in life, it behooves you at least to try them out.

One of them is sure to become your New Age Guide to Nirvana.

Mind Power - Law of Attraction - Use Your Inner Gifts to Unleash Your Mind Power and Attract Success

The secret to attracting success, money and friends is to unleash your mind power through self-talk by telling yourself that you will think positive and find ways to feel good.

Our mind absorbs many things especially the negative thoughts from other people. Subconsciously we hear them as feedback when we are doing things that make us think negative. Learn to overcome the negative and become positive by becoming more aware of your self-talk.

Look inside objectively while thinking positive to decide what it is that you don't like about yourself and things around you. Remember don't let the negative thoughts get in the way and keep you stuck, just use them as a guide. It takes being truthful and staying positive to be successful at this. Being consistent will bring you money and new friends.

Self-talk is telling yourself that you can and will be successful in whatever goals you choose in life. If you want to make friends or become closer to the ones you already have, you will need to be more conscious of how you act. Your friends will be flocking around you when you talk positive instead of running yourself down all the time.

Sometimes we have to write down what we want to change in order to help the mind and brain attract the things we want. Changes are not always easy and fun to do but thinking and feeling good will move you further along in life by unleashing your mind power to succeed.

Making a list of what you want to do different and how you're going to succeed, to reach your goals will make them seem more obtainable. Repeating this list or what some call affirmations or intentions, again and again out loud in a soft voice will reprogram your mind and increase your effectiveness.

Think positive at the work place and tell yourself that you can learn a new way to handle certain things like how you talk to your co-workers. When you talk to friends at work don't say things like; "I can't get this done in that length of time." Instead say, "Sure I'll work on it right away." When you use the words "can't" or "if" you are using negative thoughts; learn to work around them by telling yourself that you can and will meet the deadline and succeed. People will be happier to work with you and at the same time, you'll be making more money and friends.

Focusing on your self-talk will help you to remember that you have a list of goals and rewards waiting for you to work on. If you need to, go back to the list of goals and remind yourself how you're going to succeed by making these changes.

As time goes on your old negative thoughts will have less and less of a hold on you.

Start now and make your list while you unleash your mind power to success, money and friends. Don't worry if you make a mistake before reaching your goals. Everyone makes mistakes at one time or another but we learn from them and press on toward the goal. Use your self-talk and positive thinking to find a different way to handle an unpleasant situation the next time it occurs.

Mind Power - What You Focus on You Give Power To!

The unconscious mind has an unlimited ability to hold information; it never sleeps, and it is always absorbing information and data. Your unconscious intends to protect you in any way that it can; it kept you from falling off the bed last night, didn't it? It was aware of the edge of the bed and kept you away from it, just far enough to be safe.

The problem is that the unconscious mind - about 97 percent of the brain - is not very smart, at least in a logical way. For this reason, you need to engage the conscious mind so that you will act appropriately. The limitation is that the conscious mind can attend to only about five things at the same time, and everything else fades to the background. Now, five bits of information is certainly a lot less than millions of bits of information, so you must constantly decide what those five conscious things ought to be.

For example: If you look for all the green objects in the room, you will find them, and if you look for all the yellow, you will see all the yellow. If you sort for all the mean people in the world, you will find them; when you look for what is working in your life, you will see it. Focus on what you want. Go for what you want and keep your focus on what you have chosen!

How about your significant other or a good friend? Is there something about them that bugs you? Now be honest. Most people would say, "Yes, indeed." Now take something that bugs you and visually move it to the background. Next, focus on something that you like and visually make it big and compelling, full of color and life. Let it slide into the foreground. Wow. How do you feel now?

If you choose to spend your mind capacity thinking and stewing about negative things, sure enough, you will feel negative. I do not presume that we live in denial; I offer the concept that we highlight what is working rather than what is not working-in other words, what you have rather than what you don't have. It is interesting to note that depressed individuals focus on what they do not have. If you ask depressed people how they feel or what their thoughts are, they will tell you about things that are going wrong or things they do not have.

Do you have legs? Some people do not. Do you have food? Some people do not. Do you have a job? Some people do not. No matter what your circumstance, you have something to be thankful for.

Focus on what you have, what you want, what is good, and what can be changed, and move forward in your life.
